The Bucksport Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and its Board of Directors have made the very difficult decision to close our doors, effective May 30, 2020. The Chamber is unable to fiscally survive on memberships alone and the current pandemic of COVID-19 has limited our ability to hold fundraising events. All employees have been furloughed in hopes of a possible future Chamber merger. There will be no online presence going forward unless a merger happens.
The Board of Directors and the Staff would like to thank the many people who have been involved in the Chamber over the many years. For anyone with immediate and pressing questions the Board of Directors is listed on the Chambers website, www.bucksportbaychamber.com, you may contact them by email listed next to their names.
Our heartfelt thank you goes to all, with deep appreciation from the board and staff.

A new fund has been started with $4,000 in private donations! In the same spirit as “Pay It Forward”, the idea is that “we are all in this together”.
100% of all donations will be used to double the value of a $10 Bucks’ Bucks which can be used to purchase $20 worth of local goods, services, or gift certificates at a participating Bucksport business and organizations impacted by the shutdown. Businesses accepting the $10 Bucks Bucks will then be reimbursed $20 from the fund. They get needed business and the buyer gets a really good deal during a tough time.
Bucks will be on sale every Tuesday and Thursday from 8am-7pm. This will allow our one part-time staff person to keep up with the administration of the program. Please honor the $50 per household per week limit.

The Town of Bucksport, in partnership with the Eastern Maine Development Corporation (EMDC), is working to develop a community-supported vision and plan for the future of the former Paper Mill property. The project is being funded through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Area-Wide Planning Program. The outcome of the process will be an achievable and community-driven redevelopment plan for the Bucksport Mill property.
