Welcome to Our Region!
The Bucksport Bay Area region is encompassed by some of the most beautiful land and seascapes you’ll find anywhere in the world! The community of Bucksport and the surrounding towns of Verona island, Orland, Orrington, and all the rest are populated with some of the most entrepreneurial and adventurous people in America. This is a region with diverse influences, from the local to the cosmopolitan, and everything in between.
The fishing ports, lakes, rivers, and ponds all contribute to the wonderful outdoor resources we all share in and enjoy, offering all the recreation and business opportunities the local waters can possibly provide. The land is equally bountiful, as our local farmers and ranchers can attest with their plentiful harvests to be sold at local groceries, restaurants, and farmer’s markets throughout our region.
As we find ourselves standing at the dawn of the second decade of the new century, the citizens and businesses in Bucksport and surrounding region are looking to move forward with the respective business and economic opportunities that are emerging within new industries and technologies, as well as new strategic partners in the Bucksport Bay Area region to improve the economic success and quality of life.
That entrepreneurial spirit permeates all we do here at the Chamber of Commerce, and it underlines the mission of the chamber to its members and the community as a whole as we move towards a brighter future for all, while at the same time honoring and respecting all whose efforts and successes came before us.
We continue to work towards the increased success, social and economic enrichment, and enhanced awareness of the business and family opportunities in and around the Bucksport Bay Area through our business partners, local festivals and events and through the use of media relations to raise awareness.
I look forward to talking with and listening to each and every one of you who has ideas for helping the Chamber to reach our shared goals by having an engaged, enthusiastic, and involved membership coming together for the increased benefit of all!
Wishing you much happiness and success,
Bucksport Bay Area Chamber of Commerce

A new fund has been started with $4,000 in private donations! In the same spirit as “Pay It Forward”, the idea is that “we are all in this together”.
100% of all donations will be used to double the value of a $10 Bucks’ Bucks which can be used to purchase $20 worth of local goods, services, or gift certificates at a participating Bucksport business and organizations impacted by the shutdown. Businesses accepting the $10 Bucks Bucks will then be reimbursed $20 from the fund. They get needed business and the buyer gets a really good deal during a tough time.
Bucks will be on sale every Tuesday and Thursday from 8am-7pm. This will allow our one part-time staff person to keep up with the administration of the program. Please honor the $50 per household per week limit.
